Lake Shawnee CG is a nice campground, but with the economy the way it is, it is really starting to attract a less than stellar crowd. A lot of late night partying so if you're looking for some sleep be careful of the spot you pick. One bathroom is newer and has A/C. The park personnel keep both of them clean.

Really nice neat and quiet park. There are a few permanent types, but their sites are very neat. The CG owner takes great pride in the appearance of the place and it shows. Sites are a little close, but there is a grass area in between them. This is a great overnight stop if traveling US 75 in Kansas. We stayed for the whole month of July and will be going back for the month of October. I would have given it a 10, but it does like for activities for kids. There is a nice trail to walk/bike that is accessible from the park. Definitely recommend this park.

What a beautiful park! The place is like a zoo during October because of the foliage. Indiana gets it right, there's no doubt about it! Great park for kids with the Nature Center offering education sessions on different things all week long. The Taylor Ridge area is actually on a ridge, so be VERY careful selecting a site. Was glad I loaded extra leveling wood as our moderate slope site needed extra for getting the rear end up to level. Shower rooms are nice and the park also has pit toilets. We carried gallon jugs for flushing the toilet in the coach. The place is a little on the roughing it side, but very well worth it.

As stated by others, sites were small, but were OK for an overnight stay. Each of the pull thru sites had a small cement pad for a patio with a picnic table and small wood burner. Staff was friendly and the park was well taken care of and very clean.

Very friendly staff, very nice office/store, and clean restrooms. We stayed here on the "stay one get one free weekend", and were very satisfied with our stay. Lots to do in Lawrence as well. This park is a nice stop over off I-70/Kansas Turnpike.

Nice stop over on I-40. I didn't experience any of the attitude problems others have talked about. Nice quiet park. You need to make reservations ahead this time of the year as many are headed to AZ and the full hook sites fill fast. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but our neighbors highly recommended it. We stayed here on our way to Phoenix, and also stayed on the return trip. Wifi was free and strong.

Nice park on the lake with some sites that have a view of the lake/marina. Electric was good and stable. The park lost water pressure completely on the Sunday we were there, but had it restored in 3-4 hours. Our site (304) was tough to level on (36' coach). The sewer hookups are down a slope and you need plenty of hose to get there. I had two 10' links and barely made it there, which also contributed to my leveling problems. Nice place with friendly staff.

Great place to stop over if you are traveling on I-24. This is the second time we have stopped here and the place is under new management. The 50 amp service was and stayed right at 120 volts and the water pressure was solid. It is basically a gravel lot with some grass here and there, but the new management is planting trees and is cleaning the place up. It was easy to get to off I-24 and did not have any road noise. Nice, clean pool for the kids.

This park would have received a higher rating from me, but the drive from I-40 to get there was bumper to bumper at a snail's pace. The CG setting was very nice and well maintained. Staff was not real friendly, as I had to call a couple of times for directions to the CG (the directions made it sound like it was right off I-40). Pull thru sites are nice and we had a nice view of the stream.

Quite a bit of road noise. The owners stated they were working on getting 50 amp service installed. Clean campground and owners were very friendly. I would stay here again, it's a nice stop over spot.

The park had marginal power and very low water pressure. We used to live in this area and the place has built up tremendously. This probably accounts for the low water pressure. Park is clean and is close access to Charleston. Very nice pool for the kids.

As previously stated, KOA's have a purpose in life that is normally for short term and over night stops. This KOA fits that bill well and the staff was very friendly. The parking lot for the Flying J on the other side of the fence does create a lot of dust during windy conditions. The roads and sites were not dirt, but were lightly gravel covered. The rate is with a KOA card.

Very nice laid out park. Close to I-70 so you do get some road noise. Ice Cream from 7:30 - 8:00 and then a very reasonable pancake breakfast in the morning. The staff was friendly and the sites all appeared to be very level. The rate was with a KOA card.

When we arrived the pool was closed for a private party that the owner was having (poor decision when you advertise a pool?). Access was easy and it was a good one night stop over campground. There were a lot of permanent residents in some shody looking trailers, but then not all of us can own high dollar equipment? The receptionist was very polite and got the pool opened up after a discussion with the owner. Campground was quiet and everybody was very friendly.

Sites are pretty tight together and the pull thrus are along a busy road. Road noise was not really bad, but then we had the coach closed up. Staff was pretty friendly and the campground was very well taken care of. Rate was a little steep even with the Good Sam discount. I'd recommend this campground to any one staying in the Asheville area.

Hurricane Ivan had damaged the bridge at the entrance causing the wife a few nervous moments getting into the park. There's a nice "catch what you keep" fishing pond next to the park. Restrooms were clean and there was a nice hiking trail behind the park. I'd stay here again.
